Grand Théâtre de Provence # Saison 2017/18

Les 20 ans de Café Zimmermann

Special show for the twenty years of Café Zimmermann, together with the name of a famous Café music of the 18th century, founded by the harpsichordist Celine Frisch and violinist Pablo Valetti, who were attracted to them the finest performers on instruments of time.
Bach concertos. In residence at the Grand Theatre in 2011, they got a name in the maze of baroque music coming out of the oblivion of the unknown partitions and working every skill and every inflection with the rigour of the archaeologist and the precision of the Goldsmith. Their reinterpretations of the masterpieces always adopt the right tone.
Critics praise 'the atmosphere of baroque beef with fast tempos, net joints and sharp colours' (the world) that characterizes their concerts.
Another reflection of their artistic bulimia, the imposing discography of "Zimmermann" is filled with a dozen Opus, including an impressive integral of music for Orchestra Bach, awarded with 5 Diapasons of gold. This concert is also dedicated to the famous Cantor in Leipzig, including the Orchestra in full, with supplements of flutes, Oboes, trumpets Baroque and timpani, interprets an enchanting assortment of Suites and Concertos. A perfect evening to discover or rediscover the music of Bach.
